I totally feel your pain in wanting a refund! And I imagine it's even worse when your doctor suggests you need to lose weight and possibly doesn't quite believe you when you explain the above. It sux big time :( Swimming is good for overall fitness and it's low impact so may work for you and your knees? I'm a walker although I slack off in the colder darker months of the year (like now) but I'll never be a runner as I have asthma I run out of breathe easily and its scary.
